NIPO Software opens Helpdesk in Hong Kong

Recognizing the need of our clients for support in their own time zone, NIPO Software has decided to start a new Helpdesk in the Asia Pacific region. On 1 January 2006 NIPO Software will open the new support center in Hong Kong.

Jeroen Noordman, Sales Director of NIPO Software, adds: “Next to having long-term customers in the Asia Pacific region, we expect a steady growth in new customers over the coming years. To all these parties we would like to show our commitment. The NIPO Software Helpdesk Asia Pacific will help in improving the level of support.”.

Kees Varekamp, who worked for several years at the NIPO Software Helpdesk in Amsterdam, will manage the Asia Pacific Helpdesk for the first year. Kees Varekamp: “I look very much forward to establishing the new support facility. My first priority will be the recruitment of two local staff members, who will be trained extensively. I look forward to hear from you and look forward to a fruitful co-operation”.

In the beginning of 2006 all clients in the region will receive more information about the new Helpdesk.

Tim Macer's review of the NIPO Fieldwork System

Tim Macer has examined the NIPO Fieldwork System and published his positive findings in the November issue of Research magazine.

The focus of the article was the Switch Mode functionality of our CATI-CAWI data collection system, and especially what Tim calls the "warm handover".

Tim Macer is an authoritative and independent analyst and commentator on software for survey research, data collection and analysis. He contributes regularly to two industry-respected magazines - Research in the UK and Quirk's Review in the USA - on software and technology.

New Useful Tools on the NIPO Software website

On the Customers section of the NIPO Software website we have placed some new Useful Tools. NIPO Software clients can download the tools free of charges (again a login username and password is needed to access this website section).

These new tools have been added to the section:

    Cross3B
This NIPO DIANA job reads a .VAR file and creates a topline- or crosstabulation-job (crossjob for short). This job also cleans the .VAR file: Adds empty lines between variables and removes the end-of-line backslash. The cross-job that is produced will have comment lines for clarification.

    Dat2spss
For exporting ASCII data to SPSS. This job produces an .SPS file (SPSS syntax for importing data) and an .EXT file (adjusted data file, ready for import into SPSS).
